So, this post has absolutely nothing to do with sewing, gardening, cooking, or making anything homemade... but it was worth a blog post. This Sunday, Amy and I took an Introduction to Aerials class at the
Philadelphia School of Circus Arts. It was completely fun and hilarious. We learned basic moves on the rope, trapeze, and fabric.
First, we did the rope. Climbing a 20 foot rope is only slightly easier than it seems. After our arms were nice and tired, they showed us how to flip upside down and hang with one arm... awesome!

Next was the static trapeze, which doesn't swing as the name implies. Doing moves on the trapeze is basically like doing a pull up and a sit up at the same time... ouch!

The last thing we did was the fabric, aka silks. I think this was my favorite because it didn't hurt so much.

I'm not sure if there is a circus career in my future, but I'll keep it on the back burner in case this horticulture thing doesn't work out for me. Amy thinks we should start a roommate traveling circus show... I'll keep you updated.
Whoa! Grace you are so nuts! That is pretty cool though. What instigated this?
ReplyDeleteGRACE! You are so limber... totally impressive!
